I began experiencing chest & throat tightness with radiation into my jaw. It was concerning as my mother & brother died younger than me with heart related issues. My father died from aortic stenosis. After a CT cardiac angio and echocardiogram I was diagnosed with moderate aortic stenosis but my coronary arteries are clear. I not only have chest & throat tightness with activity, I have increased palpations. My AV valve measured 1.2 mm. I am to have another echo in June to check for progression. I used to run (longest distance 26.2 mi) but now my activity is limited to a brisk walk as attempting to run brings on chest pressure and increased palpations. I am a bit anxious about all this. I've been reading all I can get as well as listening to the videos online. I am seeing a cardiologist but not a cardio-thoracic surgeon as of yet. My family is pushing me to return earlier and ask for a referral to the surgeon. I might add we are all critical care nurses (the WORST patients) but I don't want to progress further until I need to. I might add I am 64. Thanks for any advise, reassurance, etc
