Donna Hofstra (https://www.heart-valve-surgery.com/journals/mystory/donnahofstra)posted a journal22 hours agoSo I have completed by TEE and my CT cardiac angiogram as well as my CT chest, abdomen and pelvis. I am getting more information on the condition of my heart valve and condition of my femoral vein, aorta and my heart vessels. I have been diagnosed with Barlows mitral valve and also Mitral Annular Disjunction which causes my heart valve to not sit correctly and requires re-stabilization/positioning (so, in layman’s terms, both doors -anterior and posterior leaflets and doorframe) need to be fixed . Radiologist states it is now a 10/10 problem :( I am waiting to see surgeon on 10/1/24 to discuss new findings and hope to determine the urgency of repair or if I will need replacement and if i can do robotic surgery or if i will need sternotomy. Continue to appreciate prayers for wisdom and peace in decisions .
