Can you donate blood if you had an aortic valve replacement?

Has anyone experienced a higher blood pressure reading following surgery? Iâ€™ve never had hypertension but since aortic valve replacement one year ago, it is mildly elevated in the 140 range. My doctor doesnâ€™t think it is cause for concern. I have a home BP monitor but have my doubts on... Read more.

Hypertension is one of the more common things that happen with time. It is possible this is something new that just needs to be monitored. You could bring your BP machine with you to your next office visit, and see how your reading compares to what the office gets.
