I had a Mitral Valve Repair about 11 years ago. I believe the repair is successful and only have trace leaking. I then had a cardiac ablation for Atrial Fibrillation about 7 years ago. The ablation seemed to also have worked on the A-fib. I never really had any exercise... Read more.

Hi-
My "D Dimer" score was 0.50 ug(FEU)/ml and .5 or more is considered high.
How serious is this? Has anyone else had similar results? I have an enlarged Aorta. Could this be the cause?
I am a 60 yr old male.

I think you need to get that info from your doc. D dimer values can vary from lab to lab. Do you have signs of a clot anywhere? There are other conditions that can increase d dimer, so the interpretation must be correlated with clinical history. Hope you get some... Read more.
