I contracted a virus in Nov 2023 that put me into heart failure symptoms. As fast as it came, it departed, but my doctor wanted to send me to a cardiologist to make sure there weren’t any underlying issues. After my echo, there it was….a severely leaking mitral valve. The odd thing is, I have never experienced any symptoms from the leaking valve and would never have know I had an issue if not for the virus! Anyway, all the tests are done now and I’m scheduled for minimally invasive mitral valve repair surgery on . I’m a 66 year old female athlete and I pray that my fitness level will aid in my recovery. I appreciate all the information and sharing that I’ve read on this site. It’s calmed me and educated me.
