About Me

Seven years ago, I had no idea that I was sick. I was active, in good physical condition, and I had no symptoms when I was diagnosed with mild aortic stenosis caused by a bicuspid aortic valve. I'm now 71 and I'm still asymptomatic but my cardiologists, Dr. Goldring and Dr. Swanson (surgeon), tell me "It's time!". My aortic stenosis is in the severe range, my resting heart rate is around 80 and I've developed a 5.0 cm aneurysm on the stem of the ascending aorta. I've been called a "time bomb". Not good! However, I don't feel like one as I feel great. I'm blessed to even know I have this condition. Surgery is Wednesday, May 3. I'm in good hands. Life is better than I deserve.
