About Me

Wow..What a 7 months this has been. Was seeing a physician for osteoporosis and he identified a bruit and thought it was my thyroid. Testing was normal. So then he referred me to a cardiologist and an echocardiogram was done and showed moderate aortic stenosis . Went back for a 6 month follow up and the stenosis had become severe. Heart carb time.. arteries are good just a bad valve. Referred to a surgeon saw him today. What a visit. A lot of information but decisions were made . Mechanical valve (at least it will last a lifetime) and lifetime coumarin. At least I can test my INR at home. So manageable. I was a little anxious about so.e parts of the surgery itself but feel better after meeting with the surgeon. Still anxious but I think that is to be expected.
