About Me

Hi all! I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve that was moderate my entire life. I honestly lived in denial of having this issue, partially from not fully understanding it, and partially from not wanting to accept any limitations to what I was physically capable of. I never let this issue slow me down until a year ago. After picking up dancing Salsa and Bachata seriously and progressing rapidly, I started noticing more and more symptoms and so much fatigue that just kept getting worse. I switched to UCLA for a new cardiologist, and was told that my valve is now severely stenotic and needs replacing soon. Im terrified of the idea of having to go through surgery and a recovery that is so limiting, but comforted by finding this resource to connect with others who understand me. Can’t wait to connect with you all 🙂
