About Me

About 25 years ago, after a routine visit to my general practitioner, he heard a Heart Murmur. I was sent to my cardiologist and after some testing, it was determined that I have a bi-cuspid Aortic Valve with Aortic Regurgitation. I have been having annual echo's, stress tests, cardiologist appointments etc. In June of last year, I was referred to University of Pennsylvania Hospital for a consultation. I met with Dr. Bavaria, and now with Dr. Nimesh Desai @ Penn. After some additional testing and a cardiac Cath, I am now facing the upcoming decision of what type of surgery to consider. Tissue Valve Replacement or Ross Procedure. (One more test to see viability of Pulmonary Valve for Ross Procedure in early April). Had surgery scheduled, but we postponed when Ross became a possible option. Overwhelmed with decision making
