About Me

I've had a heart murmur all my life, but it wasn't until my forties that my GP suggested I get it checked out. That’s when I discovered I have a bicuspid aortic valve—seems I'm the 'lucky' one, as no one else in my family has it! Now at 61, I’m closely monitoring my aortic valve, which has severe stenosis, though I remain asymptomatic. My ascending aorta is mildly dilated but not large enough for surgery at this time. Open-heart surgery may be necessary down the road if the dilation progresses, but for now, we’re focused on watching the valve
