About Me

In March 2018 I had a CT cal score scan to check for plaque in my arteries since I run somewhat high cholesterol and did not want to take statins (my liver dislikes those meds). Good news I had “zero” cal score, no plaque build up, yay! Bad news the scan showed I have a 4.4cm ascending aortic aneurysm, so..I was shocked! Since then I have seen a cardiologist, a vascular surgeon, had an echo and CTA done in July 2018 to confirm. I see a thoracic surgeon in Oct 2018. Grateful my primary doc pushed me to do that cal score, wow! I do have a murmur, aka aortic insufficiency, discovered in my 20s, and did have an arrhythmia in my early 30s which cleared up. I have 3 grown children 34, 31, and 27yo with 1 grand baby on the way. Yay! We have lots of fur babies amongst us too-so we love animals. I was in two major auto accidents over my life time (not my fault, haha) and live with chronic pain due to spine injuries. I just had my 3rd spine surgery in May 2018 due to myelopathy @c-spine. I also struggle with anxiety and depression, in which chronic pain exacerbated that, but do my best. So, I’m just a wait and see case with echo and CTA follow ups. I don’t have a serious blood pressure prob, runs 110-125s, sometimes 150s when anxiety attacks kick in, but I do take a starter dose of 25mg Losartan due to the aneurysm find. I look forward to hearing what the thoracic surgeon says next month. Am grateful for all docs that help folks like us. Thankful for this blog! and all you folks! 💓
