I had mitral valve repair via mini-thoracotomy in March of 2018 at 41 years old. My story has been like a bit of a roller coaster and was hard to process and write about as it was happening, I was so shocked and emotional about it. And then just trying to survive. A mitral valve repair, 2nd emergency surgery, a stroke, many miracles, and a year of recovery later, here I am to tell it, like a therapy session.
