I was diagnosed with BAV when I was 19. I have had no symptoms until this past year. My family moved to a new town and I became a Stay-At-Home-Mom. I started having chest pain, dizziness, palpitations, etc. I contributed all of these to stress and anxiety due to the recent life changes we just had. We wanted to add another baby to our family in May but I decided to have my heart checked before doing so as pregnancy puts a lot of stress on a heart. I first went to Mayo Rochester, MN and had been set up for surgery in July after finding I have severe regurgitation. I had a second opinion in July and changed surgeons to Gunderson Lutheran in Lacrosse, WI. My new surgery date is now October 7th, 2014.
