I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse with moderate mitral regurgitation in 2013. I have been monitored with an annual echocardiogram each year to keep track of the regurgitation. I started having shortness of breath, chest pain, excessive fatigue, heart palpitations in December. Did my annual echo in February. Cardiologist said the regurgitation has become severe. Went in for a TEE on March 16, and it was confirmed. I am scheduled for a Catheterization Tuesday April 10. I am trying to research surgeons so I can get a date scheduled and so I can feel like things are moving forward.
