About 20 years ago my Cardiologist said I might need a new valve in about 10 years. I had no symptoms until just recently, so now it's time. I'll update my progress here as I know it. Update: April 13, 2015 Today I had a visit with my surgeon, Dr. Michael Argenziano Chief of adult cardiac surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He said that it looks like there is a 99% chance he'll do a "repair" and not a replacement valve to my Mitral Valve. This is a big difference all around, much better to keep my own valve and it will last longer then a bovine replacement, less meds. Surgery is soon, I did all the pre op tests today also, so I don't have to make the trip again until the surgery. Keep me in your prayers. Thanks again for your support. May 4, 2015, 96 hours after surgery; May 4, 2015 I'm home. Thank you thank you than you all you dear people for your good thoughts and prayers. I will admit, it was NOT a piece of cake, but we did it. What a great staff I had at "New York-Presbyterian", aka, Columbia Presbyterian, and my Surgeon Dr. Michael Argencizno. Everything went just as they said it would. I'll be posting more each day as I'm feeling better. After 13 months I'm feeling GREAT. See my new pictures.
