I was diagnosed with a bicuspid valve and thoracic aortic aneurysm in 2008 which they have been monitoring since. Unfortunately the aneurysm is now 5.1cm and they tell me it's time to repair it and hopefully repair the valve which seems to be functioning well. Problem is I'm a nurse anesthetist and I know exactly what will happen because I've done open heart anesthesia before...Still have a ways to go before the actual date so just trying to move on with keeping my self in the best shape possible...I would appreciate helpful information on your stories to share about the same procedure you've all had.
