About Me

Hi friends, I am 57 years old. After a routine checkup in December 2020, my new primary care detected a murmur. Prior to that had been under the care of an endocrinologist who was monitoring my Thyroid and cholesterol . Some thing told me to change physicians , perhaps an angel. I thought I felt fine just out of shape. After a 2-d echo showed moderate to severe aortic stenosis. Fast forward after TEE ,cath and stress test the diagnosis was confirmed including a bicuspid valve. My cardiologist recommends surgery before CHF and worse symptoms occur. Currently I get some shortness of breath with walking up hills and stairs. After getting a couple of opinions I decided on going with Dr Doolhabs port access minimally invasive approach. Surgery is scheduled September 8 at UT Southwestern.
