In April I was diagnosed with endocarditis from a bacterial blood infection that severely damaged my mitral valve resulting in severe regurgitation. On July 8th, I had OH surgery to have the damaged valve replaced with a mechanical one which was recommended from surgeon because I am only 59 yo and did not want to have to go through another procedure. I am still recovering but doing better everyday.
