About Me

Hey guys.....34 year old from Trinidad. I had my first op when I was 15, it was as a result of rheumatic fever. I had the Ross procedure done at North Shore hospital, NYC and things have been pretty good since then.Last April, during a routine medical I found out that my pulmonary valve was acting up....as a matter of fact it's almost completely "calcified". I'm apparently asymptomatic cause I try to work out at least four - five times a week.I kinda knew it was inevitable to have another surgery so here I am folks. The anxiety is there.....I kinda just want it "over and done with". I remember the pain very vividly so for a long time I was pondering a non invasive procedure. After months of scouring the internet, talking to various doctors and this forum [yes I edited my story] I'm getting a shiny new tissue valve, I was seriously considering the mech option but I'm optimistic that I can do a catheter option in the future if need be. Wish me luck!
