I had rheumatic fever when I was 9 and had an open heart surgery at the 12, to replace a mitral valve, that was stenotic. Moreover; now at the age of 34 I am going to have my aortic valve replacement together with a redo of my mitral valve; since it’s been 23 years since I got it replaced. I’ve had 3 kids with a mechanical valve; a 16 year old; a 5 year old and a 7 months old. I thank God first of all and the wonderful doctors that I’ve been blessed with.
