About Me

I was diagnosed in Feb 2021 when my primary heard a heart murmur. Had an echo that showed a BAV with a 4.6 cm ascending aortic aneurysm. We have been doing the watchful waiting and all was good until August 2022 when I was sent to a surgeon. My cardiologist said I have measurements that meet severe stenosis and some that still read moderate. The surgeon, since I wasn’t exhibiting many symptoms said we could wait but if symptoms started worsening I should call before my next check in March. Well… they have worsened so I go to see the surgeon tomorrow and will have an echo and go from there. So… guess tomorrow I will have more answers. Still haven’t decided on type of valve. Pros/cons for both. In hindsight… my diagnosis explained many “symptom” that I had been questioning thinking it was just from getting older.
