About Me

My story started out last October when I suffered a Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion (BRAO). I suddenly lost 40% of the vision in my left eye. The doctors went searching for answers and discovered for the first time I have a bicuspid aortic valve, densely calcified, and mild aortic aneurysm. They speculate calcium broke off from my valve and entered my eye. I'm very healthy and active so this came as a total shock, as did the recent news the stenosis has grown severe and an aortic root replacement surgery is required.
