About Me

I did not even know I was ill. For about a month I had been getting more and more short of breath. I thought I was just out of shape and working to many hours.(60 a week) On Friday the 2nd of December I was so short of breath, a coworker made me go to the ER at the hospital where I work. Next thing I know I am being told I have aortic stenosis and will need open heart surgery. OMG. Ten days later my surgery was done. No complications for the most part and recovery has not been bad, My only complication is what they call Pump head. I literally lost almost two weeks before my surgery and about 10 days after. Little to no memory of it at all. It is very strange and un-nerving not to be able to remember such a big event. Cannot remember visitors, hospital stay (three weeks) or surgery. Little bits are coming back as people prompt me. Has anyone else experienced this?
