Send Dave a NoteAbout Me
I'm 60 years old, in good health. During a routine physical 13 years ago my doctor heard a murmur. I was sent to a cardiologist who found that I had a bicuspid aortic valve that was leaking. We took a watch and wait approach since the valve was functional at that time. A few weeks ago my primary doctor sent me for an echocardiogram, my leaky valve was still functioning ok but now the problem was a bulging ascending aortic artery. I'll be meeting with my surgeon for a final consult on March 14, 2018. Surgery is scheduled for Friday, March 16, 2018. I'm nervous, scared and worried. My wife is 100% supportive and positive. I'm trying to come to grips with the need for surgery and the fact that it'll be for the better.
