Darrell's Profile

I am 49 years old and live in Central Alabama. I operate a concrete placing boom for one of the largest construction services companies in the Southeast. During a routine physical in October 2014 the doctor heard a loud murmur. I followed up with my family doctor who scheduled an appointment with my new cardiolist, J. Hudson Segrest. After EKG, Echocardiogram, TEE and Angiography he found my bicuspid aortic valve and 6.5cm aneurysm. One week later I met my surgeon Jamie Davies at UAB Kirklin Clinic. Thankfully this aneurysm was found and surgery scheduled. I never had a clue about the bicuspid valve. I am blessed that the doctors who performed my physical and follow-up tests were diligent in their care to ensure I take this serious. I will expound and update in the days ahead. God Bless! Darrell
