Found out about a month ago that I had Mitral Valve Regurgitation. I got two opinions in NYC from Columbia Presbyterian and Lenox Hill Hospitals. Decided to go with Dr. Nirav Patel at Lenox Hill since he can perform the repair using robotics. Surgery scheduled for 11/09/22 Update: Two months since my Mitral Valve repair. Doing very well. Slowly but surely. Can’t wait to get off all the medications which seems to cause me a lot of itching. (Maybe it’s all in my head) Update: 2 1/2 months since my Mitral Valve repair with Dr. Patel at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC. Just moved from New York to Greensboro Georgia. Plan to start my rehab this coming week at a local rehab center. Need to get off the couch and start moving again. Update: It's been 1 year since my Mitral Valve Repair surgery performed at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC. Feeling great with no limitations. Just on 1 prescription medicine with one baby aspirin daily. Exercising daily and doing a lot of walking to stay in shape. Wishing everyone the very best in your journeys through heart valve issues.
