About Me

I am 8 weeks Post surgery from Open Heart Surgery I had to repair my mitral valve. My surgeon released me from his care 2 weeks ago to my cardiologist. I saw my cardiologist last week, and do not need to see him for 9 months as he said everything was going well. I am now 10 weeks post surgery... everything is well. I started cutting my grass again with push mower with rear bagger... takes about an hour. I get winded a little mid way through. Cardiac Rehab is going well 2X a week... 35 minutes on treadmill followed by 5 minutes on arm bike, and ends with 20 minutes on elliptical. I get a pretty good sweat which I have "missed" over the last 2 months. Also started jogging a "little"... walk a lap, "old man" jog a lap, etc. for 8 laps around the field at the Park across the street from my house... So far... so good!! I am currently in cardiac rehab twice a week for an hour each session doing fairly well after my fourth session. But do feel tired all the time. I also still have a heaviness in my chest and very minor pain from time to time. I am wondering if my fatigue is from the 50MG of Metoprolol Tartrate I take twice a day. I was on 50MG of Losartin Potassium to control my blood pressure prior to surgery, but was switched to Metoprolo after surgery. I just sent an email to my cardiologist to see if he can answer this question.
