I'm a 31F who had a successful mitral valve repair done via sternotomy on June 29th, 2020 by Dr. James Gammie at the Univ of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Gammie and his team did a fantastic job, and after months of self-assisted cardio rehab due to covid, I was back to running, biking, paddleboarding, all the things I love to do better than ever. I was so shocked at how quickly I healed and how smooth the surgery/recovery went. I would love to be a resource for the younger crew going through this as there are not many of us!
