I have always known that I had a heart murmur but it wasn't until my primary doctor said he heard a clicking noise in my heart about ten years ago and then ordered me to go get checked out by a cardiologist did I learn that I have valvular heart disease. I've been monitored with echo every six months and have been told I'm at severe now. Then had a TEE and was told I could probably go one to three years if no symptoms before replacement. Well I've gone about a year and a half since then and I have started to have some chest pain so I think it's time to get this done and move forward.
