I had a stroke in 2022 and it was finally discovered I had atrial fibrillation and mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation. I met with a surgeon and he has scheduled me for surgery 2/26/2026. A TEE (trans-esophageal echocardiogram) has been done to see currently the exact situation with my heart, since my other TEE from 2023 is 2 years old. I have a few symptoms right now and he feels it is important to do surgery before things get more severe. I'm afraid but endeavoring to stay positive and fully trust God with my life and the outcome of my surgery. I am grateful for the support of family, friends and for an amazing group like this one! update: I had my surgery February 26 and I'm ecstatic to get it behind me. I'm doing OK, ready for slow, steady recovery.
