I am from Tampa Fl and 78 years old. I will have double valve plus left ventrical myectomy by sternotomy. I am now symptomatic after many years of cardiac watchful waiting. My mitral valve and left ventricle are congenitally deformed so no minimally invasive correction for me. I have had five consults to find a less invasive method but all five agree on the needed surgery and method. I consulted with the major centers mentioned here ....Cleveland Clinic Cleveland and Weston..Mayo Jacksonville..Advent Orlando and Tampa General. My final decision was made by the surgeons available dates and logistics for my caregivers post surgery. All gave me exceptional kindness and encouraged the multiple opinions of their peers and referrals. I am fortunate to live in a city with a major center and so Dr. Lozonschi who does heart and lung transplants here will do my surgery on April 26th.
