Hello Everyone, I am so THANKFUL that I've found this wonderful Community of Support for all that have had heart valve procedures or might be undergoing procedures in the future. I also "Thank" Adam Pick for all of his continuing efforts in maintaining and promoting this Community. Now for my story: I am 63 years old & was diagnosed with moderate aortic stenosis back in September, 2015. My aortic valve size at that time was 1.5cm. I was told that that I would need to monitor my aortic stenosis via echocardiogram each year. It's now year 3 & my aortic valve is now at 1.1 cm. I’ve noticed, over the past several months, a substantial decline in my energy level, light headedness and at times more difficulty with my breathing. I visited Dr. Kevin Accola in Orlando, Florida on 11/19/18. Dr. Accola is a highly respected Cardio Thoracic Surgeon. His Assistant (Dr. Michael Butkus) and he reviewed my case and I must say that I was very impressed with their professionalism and their candidness in stating that my aortic valve was "tight" & in order to prevent additional heart damage, I really needed to have my Aortic Valve Replaced As Soon As Possible. I was quite surprised at the urgency in having the surgery, but am also very Thankful and relieved that I will soon have this all behind me. I have peace about it all and I Thank God for directing and guiding me through this process. I will be checking into Florida Hospital Orlando, on 12/26/18, for a Heart Catherization and will have my Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery the following day (December 27th, 2018).
