Jay: I enjoyed reading your story. Like you, I have had my condition (aortic stenosis - possibly bicuspid) monitored for 5-6 years now. Although I have some things that happen that make me wonder if I am having symptoms, I can't really identify anything that I know for sure are... Read more.
Nice speaking with you Mike. Hope everything works out well for you. Keep me posted. Again, my surgeon was Dr Kevin Landolfo at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.

I wanted a surgeon's opinion as to when I should do surgery. One of the first things my surgeon said to me was he would not do the surgery until the risk of not doing the surgery exceeded the risk of the surgery. It also gives you time to develop... Read more.
Thanks Jay and Rose - this input is very helpful. One more if you don't mind. Has it been your experience that insurance covers second (or even more) opinions through this process?
Mike Wynn, I had no issues with my insurance as Mayo was monitoring my condition for over two and a half years prior to my surgery.
