"Dr. Starnes is amazing and a gift to planet Earth! He is one of the most humble people I have ever met and made me and my family feel like we were all that mattered. You literally feel you're in the presence of greatness! His attention to detail and care is off the charts.

Even while I was in surgery, at some point he went to the waiting room and met with my wife in person. He could have easily called her but he went the extra extra mile to convey how I was doing. My wife told me after how much that meant to her and my two sons.

I will be grateful for the rest of my life and I have already referred someone to his office! Dr. Starnes is just the best and a true asset to Keck Medicine of USC! Fight On!!!"

"I met Dr. Starnes in his office on April 1, 2026 after being referred by my original surgeon at Mission Hospital. It was explained to me what he was going to do. He told me that he would be unavailable for three weeks. My wife and spoke with him and told him as soon as we could do this procedure it would be appreciated. I didn't want to have the time to sit and dwell on the upcoming surgery.

Dr. Starnes was very upfront and said he could do the open heart surgery on the 10th but that he was leaving right after my procedure. He said his care team would be with me the whole way. I am so thankful for Dr. Starnes to accommodate me. His staff of Dr Abt, Dr Rodriguez, and PA Patel were fantastic. I was checked in on every day by at least one of the previous staff members my entire stay.

I cannot thank Dr Starnes enough. His office staff, PA Ebby, his nurses they got stuff done in a very timely manner. Five stars all the way across the board!"
