"Dr Heimes was EXCELLENT as was her whole surgery team and the nurses at St Lukes as well. Great surgeon, great doctor - very informative and easy to talk to. Results have been perfect. It has now been 6 months and no issues.

I was playing tennis within 9 weeks of surgery and 4 weeks of cardiac rehab. I have been so surprised at how well it went. I was 72 and had never had a hospital stay or surgery. Had a bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) with no symptoms. BAV was discovered by accident 5 years before the surgery.

My advice to anyone is get your heart check by at least 50 years old and stay active. I have played tennis for over 50 years - the DR said that is why I got by so long with no symptoms and not surgery - and if I had not discovered it, my aorta my well have dissected and I likely would have died."
