"David West, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon and has certifications in thoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is director of cardiac surgery at UPMC Passavant and is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from West Virginia University and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky, followed by his fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dr. West joined the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in 2019. His clinical interests include treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and atrial fibrillation. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr West is a top notch CT surgeon which is why I selected him for my surgery.
