2 Patient Reviews for
Dr. Fiorilli
"His talent, bed side manner, and support team are a 10/10. My 92-year-old mom has a new aortic valve and a new life! We did extensive research, travelled hours to have it done at Penn Medicine, and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with our decision."
"In April 2023 I returned from a trip to Tucson, Arizona with significant swelling of both lower legs. As a retired physician, I realized something was wrong.
I saw my geriatrician who diagnosed heart failure and referred me to Penn Medicine Cardiology. After some additional tests my diagnosis was right heart failure (remember there are two sides to the heart right and left) related to tricuspid valve leakage. I then learned that Penn Medicine was involved in testing a new replacement tricuspid valve that was inserted via catheters through the veins of the leg.
With my cardiologist Dr. Fiorilli, I scheduled this in late October. I was admitted to Penn Hospital on Oct. 22 and the valve was inserted under anesthesia by Dr. Fiorilli on Oct. 24. Next day, I had minimal discomfort in my groin area and I was discharged on Oct 26.
My recovery since then has been without any problems and subsequent tests show that my new valve is working properly. We have a 5 story house. Before the new valve insertion I was breathing heavily after one flight of stairs Now I can do 2 flights without trouble."
