Our state-of-the-art hybrid operating room (OR) at Lancaster General Hospital is one of only a few available in the Lancaster region. It combines the capabilities of a heart catheterization lab with a heart surgery operating room. It offers new options for people who need complex cardiovascular surgeries. In our hybrid OR, cardiologists, vascular surgeons and cardiac surgeons to work side by side. They perform procedures that require both surgical and interventional cardiology expertise. This setup also makes it possible to change from a minimally invasive procedure to an open procedure without having to move you.
